Georgia Brown

M.Ed. Adult Ed / Couns Registered Clinical Counsellor #3090

Georgia is a passionate and creative professional that has successfully directed her way through the related fields of elementary education, adult education and employment counselling into the field of applied psychology and Clinical Counselling. With this experience, she has worked with persons from a variety of social and cultural backgrounds and is familiar with both the developmental and adult- life stages across the lifespan.

Georgia is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with BCACC and is also registered to work with CVAP and FNHA clients. She is a provider of trauma therapy for first responders and Government frontline workers. She has a Masters’ Degree in Education (Adult) with additional graduate work in Counselling Psychology. She also has five years experience working as a Clinical Counsellor in a Substance Use Treatment Center.

Her goal is to assist adults (of any age) to meet their personal emotional, psychological and social goals in order to live with satisfaction in the present moment and beyond. This often involves self reflection, courage, determination and the desire to experience and ‘live in’ our strength capacities in order to let go of the things that are no longer working for us.

Georgia’s primary focus is assisting persons to work with and move through anxiety, depression, their own internal conflict, external relational conflicts and the experiences of trauma (both adverse life events and life-threatening ones). In short, her goal is to help people gain clarity and satisfaction in their lives.

She uses the following modalities (and more) to work with clients – as an active participant in their own healing process:

Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Satir Family Systems

Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR)

Mindfulness and body-based awareness

Internal Family Systems (IFS)
